1 What Little Folio does

Little Folio is an online record-keeping tool for home-educating families in the United Kingdom. It allows you to:

• Log daily learning activities and subjects covered by your children.
• Upload photos and documents as evidence of work completed.
• Keep a record of correspondence with your local authority (LA).
• Generate AI-assisted annual education reports (paid plans only).
• Manage profiles for each child in your household.

Little Folio is a record-keeping aid. It does not provide legal advice, does not guarantee compliance with any local authority requirement, and is not a substitute for independent legal or educational guidance. You are responsible for ensuring your home education meets any legal obligations that apply to you.

2 Free and paid plans

Little Folio offers two tiers of service:

Billing. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe. All prices include VAT where applicable. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand (see Section 5).

Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before changing the price of a paid plan. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect (see Section 5).

Free plan limits. If you reach the free plan limit for activity log entries, you will not be able to add new entries until you upgrade. Existing entries are never deleted because of a plan limit.

3 Acceptable use

Little Folio is provided for personal, non-commercial home education record-keeping only. By using the service you agree that you will not:

• Upload, store, or transmit any content that is illegal under the laws of England and Wales, including but not limited to content that is obscene, hateful, threatening, or that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
• Upload any content that depicts or relates to the abuse or exploitation of children.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to another user's account or to any part of our systems.
• Use the service to store content on behalf of third parties or to run a commercial record-keeping business.
• Introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
• Scrape, copy, or reproduce the service or its content for commercial purposes.
• Use automated tools to access or interact with the service in a way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are in breach of these rules, without prior notice where necessary to protect other users or the integrity of the service.

4 Data ownership

Your data belongs to you. All activity log entries, uploaded files, correspondence records, and children's details you create in Little Folio remain your property at all times. We do not claim any ownership or licence over the content you store in the service.

We process your data only to provide and improve the Little Folio service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described in the Privacy Policy.

Exporting your data. You can download or view your records at any time while your account is active. If you wish to export a copy of all your data before closing your account, please contact us at hello@littlefolio.co.uk and we will provide it in a readable format within 30 days.

After account deletion. When your account is deleted, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Deleted data cannot be recovered. Please export anything you need before requesting deletion.

5 Cancellation policy

Cancelling your subscription. You can cancel a paid subscription at any time through the billing portal in Settings → Billing → Manage billing, or by emailing hello@littlefolio.co.uk.

When you cancel, your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again after that. Your account is then moved to the free plan. Your data is not deleted automatically when you cancel a paid subscription.

Refunds. Because digital services are made available immediately on purchase, we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods already paid. However, if you experience a technical problem that prevents you from using the service, please contact us and we will consider a refund on a case-by-case basis.

Your right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You have a 14-day right to cancel a new paid subscription and receive a full refund, provided you have not made substantial use of the paid features during that period. To exercise this right, email us at hello@littlefolio.co.uk within 14 days of your first payment.

Closing your account entirely. To delete your account and all data, email hello@littlefolio.co.uk with the subject line "Delete my account". See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6 Limitation of liability

Little Folio is provided "as is" and "as available". While we work hard to keep the service reliable, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any loss of data, loss of income, or indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Little Folio.
• We are not liable for the accuracy or completeness of any AI-generated report content produced by the Reports feature. You should review all generated content before using it.
• We are not responsible for decisions made by local authorities or others based on records you have kept using Little Folio.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.

7 Governing law and disputes

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from your use of Little Folio will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at hello@littlefolio.co.uk and we will always try to resolve issues fairly and promptly before any formal proceedings are necessary.

If you are a consumer based in the UK, you may also be entitled to use the UK's alternative dispute resolution schemes. The Citizens Advice Bureau can provide free guidance on your consumer rights.

8 General

Changes to these terms. We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Entire agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Little Folio and supersede any prior agreements or representations.

Severability. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
